Immigrate

For tourism, business, religious or study related issues, Italy is the destination many think of. Maybe it’s because of its climate or the attractions, but the number of persons moving to Italy is on the rise. If you want to get to Italy and make your stay memorable, this is a must read.
For most foreigners entering Italy, Visa or passport is a must. This document will justify your reason and expected duration of stay within Italy. If need be, you will also be required to state your economic ability as a sure sign that you can take care of yourself without any government assistance. In most circumstances, visas are valid for 90days or more based on which part of the town you will be in. Additional or extra days after expiry of the 90days, you will need special permits to allow you continue staying, without which you will be considered an illegal immigrant and may face legal action. To get a visa, you will need the following;

  • -Two latest color pass port size photographs of yourself
  • -application form completed and signed by consulate
  • -copy of passport showing clear dated of your expected stay
  • -a letter stating that you will support yourself addressed to the consulate
  • - Official letter from your bank indicating your financial status and balance.

A work permit will also gain you entry into Italy. But note that you can not apply for this document yourself. It has to be sponsored by the Italian company that is employing you to work for them. It is estimated to take about two months to process this document.
Education related permits. This is common to those foreigners who wish to study and stay in Italy. After approval that they can support themselves adequately, or if they are eligible for grants, they are then granted entry permits. The requirements are similar like in visa application but you will need to provide letter of acceptance form the institution which intends to admit you indicating date, course, duration and the time when you will start your study program. If you will receive financial aid of any form, you are expected to give proof of it as well.
Italy like any other border country also experiences illegal entry mainly through the southern borders where immigrants use the route across the Mediterranean Sea to get to the state.  This is a very risky undertaking as many have died in the sea. Despite warning and evidence of death, many people are still determined to cross the sea just to get to Italy in search of a better life. The illegal immigrants when arrested are fined and jailed but those who manage to go underground are unable to find decent jobs.
It is thus vital that you up hold your moral obligation and oblige to the terms stated in entering Italy as this will ensure your personal security should anything happen to you. On the other hand, be ready to face legal actions and penalties should you not adhere to any of the stated terms of entry into Italy.
